How Veritera Online uses cookies and browser storage. Effective from 2026-10-18 (consent version 2026-10-17).
Version: 2026-10-17
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage) works similarly. The law (the ePrivacy directive and Art. 399 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law) allows storing without consent only what is strictly necessary for a service you request. For everything else we need your consent.
2. Categories
- Strictly necessary – login, chosen language, remembering your banner choices. Always on; without them the site does not work properly.
- Functional – convenience: remembering the collapsed menu and your place in a list. Off by default; without them the site works, it just does not remember anything.
- External media – stream players from Twitch, YouTube and Kick. Off by default. Without consent the player does not connect to the external service unless you click "Play this stream only".
We use no analytics or advertising cookies, do not track you across sites and use no external fonts, scripts or counters.
3. List of cookies and browser storage
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| vsid / __Host-vsid | cookie (HttpOnly) | website login session | until logout, max. 7 days (admin panel 12 hours) | Strictly necessary |

| vetera_consent | cookie | remembering your cookie choices (consent id, version, date, categories) | 12 months | Strictly necessary |

| vetera.nav.collapsed | localStorage | which menu sections you collapsed | until removed in the browser | Functional |
| vetera.map.lower | localStorage | map: whether lower floors are dimmed or hidden | until removed in the browser | Functional |
| came:*, scroll:*, restore | sessionStorage | returning to a list (wiki, highscores) at the same place after opening details or the map | until the tab is closed | Functional |
| Twitch / YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) / Kick | external player (cookies of these services) | watching a stream on /streams after clicking the player | according to the policy of the service | External media |
4. Consent and withdrawal
On your first visit the banner lets you accept all categories, reject all or choose them in the settings. The buttons are equally prominent and the settings boxes are not pre-ticked. Until you choose, we store only strictly necessary cookies.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer – as easily as you gave it. After withdrawal we remove functional data from your browser.
We store your choice in the vetera_consent cookie and – as proof of consent – in a server-side log: a random consent id, the chosen categories, the version and the time. The log contains no IP address and no account number. We keep it for 3 years.
When we change the list of categories, the banner appears again.
5. Browser settings
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent logging in on the website.
