The rules for using the Veritera Online game and website. Effective from 2026-10-18. By creating an account you accept these Terms and the Privacy policy.
Version: 2026-10-18
1. Definitions and service provider
- Provider – Veritera Online, e-mail: support@veritera.online.
- Service – the Veritera Online game (game server) and the website with the player account, wiki, map, highscores and shop.
- Player – a natural person using the Service; Consumer – a Player who is a consumer under Art. 22¹ of the Polish Civil Code.
- Account – a player account in the Service (account number and password); Character – an in-game character belonging to an Account.
- Client – the official Veritera game program (downloadable at /download).
- Points – a virtual unit in the Service shop, exchanged for in-game services or items.
- Staff – administrators and moderators of the Service (GM, CM, GOD).
Veritera Online is a non-commercial fan project inspired by Tibia version 8.0. These Terms are the rules for electronically supplied services under the Polish Act on Providing Services by Electronic Means.
2. General rules, age, requirements
- The game is free-to-play. Using the Service does not require purchases.
- Accounts may be created by people aged 16 or over. A younger person only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts the Terms on their behalf and is responsible for their use of the Service.
- Technical requirements: a Windows computer, the official Client, an internet connection, a web browser and an e-mail address.
- Providing unlawful content is prohibited.
- The contract for using the Service is concluded when the Account is created, for an indefinite period. You can terminate it at any time by asking for your Account to be deleted.
3. Account
- An Account has one owner – the person who created it. You are responsible for actions on your Account.
- Sharing your Account, trading Accounts and Characters and using other people's Accounts are prohibited.
- Protect your password and recovery key. Staff never ask for them. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
- Give a real e-mail address you have access to – it is used to recover your Account and for important notices.
- Playing several characters at once (MC): [DO DECYZJI – proposed: at most 4 characters from one IP address at the same time]. The server enforces the limits.
- Only the official Veritera Client may be used. Other clients (including modified ones) are blocked.
- Character names must not be offensive, vulgar, political, promotional or impersonate Staff or other people.
4. Game and conduct rules
In particular, it is prohibited to:
- use bots, macros, cheats, programs that automate the game or give an unfair advantage (including "auto-heal", "aimbot", reading client memory),
- exploit game or server bugs (bug abuse, exploits), even if discovered by accident,
- insult, harass, threaten, use hate speech, spam, advertise other servers or services,
- impersonate Staff or trick others into giving passwords, keys or items (scams, phishing),
- trade items, characters, Accounts or game currency for real money outside the official shop (RMT) [DO DECYZJI – the current /rules already prohibit this],
- disrupt other players outside the game mechanics (e.g. blocking NPCs or passages, deliberately overloading the server),
- attempt unauthorised access to the server, the database or other players' accounts.
You must report game bugs using the bug report form. Reporting a serious bug may be rewarded; exploiting it will be punished.
The game rules in short: Server rules.
5. Staff rights, sanctions and appeals
For violations of the Terms, Staff may, depending on their severity: issue a warning, mute the chat, ban a Character or Account temporarily or permanently, remove or roll back items, levels and Points obtained unfairly, change a forbidden Character name, delete the Account.
Decisions are made by a human Staff member based on evidence (e.g. CAM recordings, logs, anti-cheat results – only as hints, see the Privacy policy). A ban for cheating usually covers all Characters on the Account.
You can appeal a sanction within 14 days by writing to support@veritera.online (account number, character name, reasons). Where possible, the appeal is reviewed within 14 days by a different Staff member than the one who imposed the sanction.
Staff do not restore items lost in normal gameplay (death, being robbed by another player within the game mechanics, your own mistake), unless the loss was caused by a Service error.
6. Points and purchases (if available)
This part applies to buying Points for real money, if this becomes available in the Service.
- Points and shop services are digital content not supplied on a tangible medium. Prices are in Polish zloty and include taxes.
- Points have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or refunded in cash and cannot be transferred outside the Service. They are only for using shop features.
- Right of withdrawal (Consumer): you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of concluding it without giving a reason (Art. 27 of the Polish Consumer Rights Act). This right does not apply if the supply of digital content began – at your express request and with your express consent before the withdrawal period ended – after you acknowledged that you would lose the right of withdrawal, and we confirmed this on a durable medium (Art. 38(1)(13)). When buying you give this consent and acknowledgement in a separate box (not pre-ticked); the shop delivers Points immediately, so a purchase is not possible without this consent. You receive a confirmation of the contract and the consent by e-mail [DO WDROŻENIA – order confirmation e-mail before payments are enabled].
- Refunds: if you withdraw before the Points are delivered, we refund the payment within 14 days using the same payment method. Used Points are not refunded unless the law requires it (e.g. digital content not in conformity with the contract).
- Payments are handled by external providers [NAZWA OPERATORA PŁATNOŚCI] under their own terms.
- A ban for violating the Terms does not entitle you to a refund of Points, within the limits allowed by consumer law.
7. CAM recordings
The server records game sessions (CAM). Recordings are used for watching your own play, sharing with other players and security (reviewing reports and violations). The names and messages of other players on screen may be visible in a recording.
When you share a recording (with specific players or publicly), you are responsible for what you share. Do not publish recordings outside the game in a way that infringes other people's rights. Private messages are cut out when others watch.
Details, retention and the right to deletion: Privacy policy, section 4.
8. Availability
- Every day at about 10:00 (Polish time) the game server saves and restarts (server save) – the game is unavailable for a few minutes.
- We may carry out maintenance and updates, announced on the website where possible.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service is a fan project and may be discontinued – we will announce this at least 30 days in advance; unused paid Points will be refunded proportionally where the law requires it.
- In the event of a failure or a serious bug we may restore the game state from a backup (rollback). Game progress lost this way is not compensated, except for paid Points, which we restore.
9. Liability
We are liable for non-performance or improper performance of the contract under general rules. Towards Players who are not Consumers we exclude liability for lost profits and interruptions of the Service to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights of Consumers under mandatory law.
We are not liable for the consequences of a Player sharing their password or recovery key with others, or for the actions of other players within the game mechanics.
10. Intellectual property and credits
Tibia is a trademark of CipSoft GmbH. Veritera is an independent fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by CipSoft GmbH.
The game server is based on the open-source The Forgotten Server (TFS), and the Client on OTClient / OTClientV8; we thank their authors and the OpenTibia community whose work the project builds on. The licences of the open-source components apply according to their terms.
The Service content (texts, quest guides, map, website graphics) may not be copied for commercial purposes without the Provider's consent.
11. Complaints
Send complaints about the Service and purchases to support@veritera.online. Give your account number, a description of the problem and what you request. We will answer within 14 days of receiving the complaint, to the Account e-mail address.
A Consumer may use out-of-court dispute resolution, e.g. help from a local consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or the regional Trade Inspection. The European Commission's ODR platform was closed on 20 July 2025; information on out-of-court options is available on the UOKiK website.
12. Changes and final provisions
We may change the Terms for important reasons (changes in law, game features, security). We will announce a change on the website at least 14 days before it takes effect (except changes required immediately by law or security); logged-in players will see the new version to accept. If you do not accept the changes, you may terminate the contract by asking for your Account to be deleted.
Polish law applies. This choice of law does not deprive a Consumer of the protection of the law of their country of habitual residence.
Disputes with Players who are not Consumers are settled by the court competent for the Provider's seat.
